Gift Guide for 3 Year Olds
Three year olds are incredible and full of curiousity, creativity, and imagination. We want their play spaces to honor their development with toys that will support their rapidly growing brains (and personalities ☺️). You’ll notice lots of pretend play, building toys, and gross motor skills within this gift guide. I’ve also included several game options, as their social skills and knowledge base are exploding during this year!
DRESS UP - Try Frozen (soft & washable) and Fire Fighter outfits, too!
IMAGINATION MAGNETS - remember tangrams as a kid? same, but magnetic. Kids can manipulate shapes creatively or follow patterns.
WHEEL BARROW - toddlers have an innate desire to reach “maximum effort”
GARDENING SET - pair this with great gardening books to encourage rich, sensory play! try these: book , book , book
A VACUUM that actually works
HAND SCOOTER - great way to develop coordination, inside or outside
COUNT YOUR CHICKENS - players work cooperatively to count and save the chickens. Check out the best cooperative games for 2-6 year olds here.
MINI-ERGO - this made the transition to a new baby a lot easier for my oldest, and the girls still play with it all the time
RUBBER ROAD - these are pricey, but another open-ended toy that can be enjoyed for years. You can even take them outside. A cheaper alternative is this road tape.
Many of these open-ended toys can be enjoyed by children older and younger. Be sure to check out my gift guide for toddlers for more ideas.
