How Clean is Your Water?

Approximately 65% of our body is water. We know how important it is to drink water so our body can function efficiently, but many of us don't realize how important it is to drink CLEAN water.

Sadly, not all tap water or filtered water is safe. A 3-year study conducted by the Environmental Working Group found over 300 contaminants in tap water across the U.S. They state that “more than half of the chemicals detected are not subject to health or safety regulations and can legally be present in any amount.”

Top contaminants and chemicals found in tap water include

  • Chlorine

  • Fluoride - recognized by the federal government as a harmful neurotoxin, yet it’s still being added to our water. Check out FAN for more.

  • Arsenic- click here for a map where arsenic levels are high in the U.S.

  • Disinfectant Byproducts –when water is treated with chlorine, the result is disinfectant byproducts, such as trihalomethanes (THMs), haloacetic acids (HAAs), and bromodichloromethane, which have been proven to be even more dangerous than the chlorine itself. For instance, THMs include chloroform and bromodichloromethane, both known cancer-causing chemicals.

  • Polyfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) including Teflon

  • Micro-Organisms and Pathogenic Bacteria

  • Heavy Metals

  • Pharmaceuticals

  • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)

  • and over 300 more!

Safer Solutions

We upgraded our water system in October 2022 to the under sink Water Revival System and are thrilled with our purchase. The water tastes great and we appreciate the benefits of structured water.

Showers & Bathing

When you bathe in unfiltered, contaminated water, it not only possesses hazardous health risks through skin absorption, but also leaves skin and hair dull, damaged, and dry. Young children are at an even greater risk since their skin’s barrier is not mature until around age two.

We use the Live Pristine Shower Filter and the Crystal Quest bath filter to remove chlorine, chloramine, and heavy metals from out water since we do not have a whole-house filtration system. When we are traveling, we bring these tablets for bath time.

Electrolytes & Essential Minerals

Experts recommend adding necessary minerals back into filtered water. My favorite method of achieving optimal hydration is by adding fresh lemon, a pinch of celtic sea salt, or electrolytes to 1-2 glasses of water a day.

Quinton Minerals

Fulvic & Humic Micronutrient Blend

Trace Minerals (taste terrible IMO)

Unsweetened Coconut Water

Structured Water

Relyte Electrolyte Powder

LMNT Electrolytes (my very favorite!)
